Saturday morning fun…the perilous bike lanes of NYC
Apparently NYC has started cracking down on bikers who ride outside the designated bike lanes. So, one biker decided to make a video about how difficult it is to ride in the bike lanes, by crashing into everything in sight. It makes for a fun, though rather painful, couple of minutes.

I laughed so hard during this video. I love the ending where he runs into the police car!
Let me tell you, I never ride in the bike lane. I don’t trust the driver’s, plus I have a cheap bike from Goodwill that doesn’t ride as smoothly as some bike enthusiasts have. If someone didn’t run into me, I might run into them. Oh, ever notice how people switching into a right turn lane don’t treat the biker’s lane like a real lane? I always look behind me to see if any bikers are there before I switch lanes, but no one else I know does. Well, I ride on the sidewalks. If I need to cross a busy intersection I wait for the walk light and walk my bike across the road.
