- There’s been an interesting exchange on the authorship of the Pauline epistles. Daniel Kirk opened the discussion with a post explaining his journey away from affirming Paul’s authorship of the pastoral epistles, though still seeing them as part of the canon. Brian responds with a post questioning whether non-Pauline books should still be canonical and used in the life of the church today. And Mark Stevens rounds things out with some more reflections on the subject.
- Paul Metzger critiques Mark Driscoll’s analysis of Avatar, he’s particular concerned about Driscoll’s comment on “cultural progress” and an apparent blind spot to the actual and potential damage that such “progress” can cause.
- Joel Willits posted a great quote from C.S. Lewis in which he comments on the joys of “the earlier (and only pleasurable) levels of intoxication.”
- For some reason, Jim’s got something against celebrating communion via Twitter.
- And, France has declared war on al-Qaida. I’m sure they’re scared now.
