New Western MA/MDiv class

It may seem a little odd that I would promote a 500-level course on the ThM blog, but I actually do have a good reason. Bert Downs (former Western president) will be co-teaching a 1-week intensive in early May on how to lead a church through transition (PTS 562F Leading Transitions). Bert has extensive experience in the area, and he’ll be co-teaching with a guy who developed an entire ministry around providing this kind of training. Those of you who are currently involved in ministry or see that as part of your long term plan, this is a class well worth looking at. If you do ministry for any length of time, you will lead a church through transition. The only question is whether you will do it well.

Now, here’s the catch. This is not a ThM class. It’s would be purely for your own benefit. If you are a Western alum, you should be able to use this as the one free audit that you get every year. I think that would be a great use of your time. Where else are you going to get a week of professional training like this for free? (By the way, there’s a chance that they’ll restrict how many free audits they allow into this class. So, if you’re interested, act quickly!) Even if you’re not an alum and have to pay full price, it’s still well worth it if you’re involved or planning to be involved in pastoral ministry.

Anyway, I thought I’d throw that out there. Let me know if you have any questions.
